Professional
Committee
The Professional Committee is responsible for planning events with professionals in the legal field. These events include professional development workshops, hosting chats with attorneys, and sharing information about professional opportunities and internships. These attorney talks are meant to help our members gain a proper understanding of the legal field and explore all areas while also giving them first-hand experience interacting with professionals. This professional experience will help our members in deciding what field to pursue in the future, how to go about it, and how to conduct themselves properly in a professional setting.

Academic
Committee
The Academic Committee is primarily responsible for creating opportunities that support members' academic endeavors. Most notably, the committee hosts law chats and Q&A sessions with different law schools around the country. These law chats aim to support members in their law school admissions journey, and to guide them towards reaching their academic goals. The committee also hosts an annual law school trip to the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. The committee’s overall goal is to provide KAP members with the knowledge that will help set them up for their academic success.

Trial & Advocacy
Committee
The Trial Advocacy Committee aims to teach KAP members about trial advocacy and introduce members to different avenues of legal advocacy. This includes organizing attorney chats, judge talks, and trial observations at the Champaign County Courthouse. The committee also hosts a semesterly mock trial that allow members to simulate the experience of being in court. with members acting as attorneys, witnesses, and jury members. This hands on approach allows members to get a sense of the qualities and skills necessary to present and prepare cases in court and become effective legal advocates.
