Prof Chat: Judge Joanne Rosado

Judge Joanne Rosado was elected by the people of the 11th Subcircuit in the 2018 election. She was originally appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the bench on January 20, 2017. This appointment was made based on the recommendation of Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis and her screening committee to the vacancy of the Honorable Kathleen G. Kennedy in the 11th Subcircuit. Joanne currently serves in the Juvenile Justice Division hearing felony and misdemeanor cases. She previously sat at First Municipal District, Municipal Division. In that assignment she handles a variety of cases from criminal to civil while sitting in this division. Prior to her service on the bench, Joanne served the community as an Assistant Cook County Public Defender starting in 2002.
